Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on the signing of Barcelona youngster Pedro “Dro” Fernandez, with the move now entering its final stages.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed personal terms on a four-and-a-half-year contract with the French champions. The deal would keep him in Paris until 2030, pending the formal activation of his €6 million release clause.

PSG are expected to trigger that clause shortly, which would allow the transfer to be completed without further negotiations with Barcelona.

Dro has been highly regarded within Barcelona’s setup and was recently included in long-term plans for the first team. The club believed the teenager could develop into a senior option in the coming years, especially after earning the trust of the coaching staff.

However, opportunities at first-team level remain limited. With established midfielders already ahead of him, Dro has opted for a move that offers a clearer pathway to regular progression at senior level.

PSG’s interest has been decisive, with the club acting swiftly to secure the player’s commitment. The presence of head coach Luis Enrique is understood to have played an important role in convincing the young midfielder to make the switch.

Unless there is an unexpected change, PSG will finalise the deal once the release clause is paid, bringing an end to Dro’s time at Barcelona and marking the next step in his career.
