Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Facundo Buonanotte on loan, with the Argentine midfielder set to join the Blues until June 2026.

The 19-year-old has also agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and a medical is being arranged ahead of the move. The deal does not include an option to buy, but Chelsea have secured matching rights — meaning they can equal any future offer Brighton accept from another club if a permanent transfer is discussed later.
Buonanotte has been regarded as one of Brighton’s brightest young prospects since joining from Rosario Central in 2023. The Argentine youth international has shown glimpses of his potential in the Premier League and is now set to continue his development at Stamford Bridge.
The long-term loan gives Chelsea additional depth in midfield while allowing Buonanotte the chance to establish himself at the top level. Brighton, meanwhile, have ensured they retain control of the player’s future should he continue to progress.
The move is expected to be finalised once Buonanotte completes his medical, with Chelsea confident the teenager will add creativity and energy to their squad.
