Oleksandr Usyk’s latest victory at Wembley has not only added another belt to his already stacked cabinet — it’s reaffirmed his place as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. As of July 2025, the Ukrainian holds every major title across boxing’s four top sanctioning bodies and remains the man to beat in the most iconic weight class of them all.

Usyk defended his titles with a convincing win over Daniel Dubois earlier this month, and the latest rankings from the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, and Ring Magazine confirm just how dominant he’s become.

All Eyes on Usyk

With an unblemished record of 24 wins and no defeats, Usyk is now recognised as champion across all five leading rankings, including Ring Magazine’s prestigious lineal title — a recognition given only to “the man who beat the man”. Usyk secured that honour in 2024 when he defeated Tyson Fury in their much-anticipated clash, and he’s since gone on to defend it twice, most recently against Dubois.

The significance of this achievement cannot be overstated. Before Usyk, the last fighter to unify all four belts was Lennox Lewis back in 1999.

Heavyweight Rankings: July 2025 Snapshot

Here’s where the key fighters stand now, with rankings across the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring:

  • Oleksandr Usyk is the reigning champion across WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO, as well as the current Ring and lineal title holder.

Names to Watch:

  • Moses Itauma (GBR) – At just 20, Itauma is ranked #1 by the WBO and breaks into the top 10 of nearly every other body. He’s seen as the future of the division.
  • Anthony Joshua (GBR) – Still a major presence, Joshua sits in the top 5 across several rankings including the WBC and Ring. He remains in the frame for another title shot.
  • Filip Hrgović (CRO) and Martin Bakole (COD) – Two of the most consistent top-10 names across all boards. Both have put together strong performances over the past year.
  • Agit Kabayel (GER) – The WBC’s interim titleholder and Ring’s No. 4. Kabayel is edging closer to a world title opportunity.
  • Joseph Parker (NZL) – Currently holds the WBO’s interim belt and sits inside Ring’s top three.

The Bigger Picture: The Future of Heavyweight Boxing

There may be several belts in circulation, but for now, all roads lead to Usyk. What makes this era exciting is not just the presence of a unified champion, but the strength and depth behind him.

From hard-hitting veterans like Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora, to rising contenders such as Jared Anderson and Richard Torrez Jr, the division is packed with talent across continents — from the UK and USA to Nigeria, Cuba, and Uzbekistan.

With heavyweight fights drawing purses in the tens of millions, and stadium events like Wembley selling out within hours, boxing’s marquee division is thriving. The competition is fierce, the stakes are high, and fans are spoilt for choice when it comes to match-ups.

What’s Next?

While Usyk enjoys his reign at the top, pressure is mounting. The likes of Itauma, Joshua, Parker and Hrgović are all waiting in the wings for their shot. And with broadcasters, promoters, and global audiences clamouring for more high-stakes action, the next 12 months could be defining for several careers.

Behind the belts and rankings, one truth remains: heavyweight boxing is back in full swing — and it’s only getting better.
