The 20-year old impressed many when representing the Senegal national team against England in a friendly last month, where he kept Bukayo Saka very quietly whilst also contributing going forwards.
Various sources had previously stated that he was on the radar of many clubs in Europe, including Brighton and Hove Albion – a club known for their savvy recruitment.
Longstanding left-back Aaron Cresswell departed the club this summer after 11 years at the club. Emerson Palmieri is still at the club and has generally performed well for the Hammers, but it is clear that they need another option in that position.
